• Stephanie Sacco

Anthropologist and Social Impact Professional from Brazil, Latin America.

    Hi, I'm Stephanie!

Anthropology student at Universidade Federal da Paraíba - UFPB (João Pessoa, Brazil) and social worker in love with food, places, and people.

Currently working on my master's research in anthropology, studying migrations from urban to rural areas and people who connect to nature to build a better life for themselves and for the planet.

In this portfolio, you will find information on my professional career and the main projects I’ve worked on.

    Amani Institute

    January 2017 - December 2019

    Programs Manager

    #SocialInnovation #Changemaker #GlobalMindset #ProjectManagent

Amani's mission is to develop next-generation talent to address social challenges by creating a higher education model that offers future leaders opportunities to get an intensive experience of cross-boundary work, develop practical skills to build their professional toolkit, and understand the personal journey this work requires in order to be effective and sustainable as an individual over time. All this while simultaneously reducing the traditionally high cost of top-class global education.

After managing the Post Graduate Certificate in Social Innovation Management in São Paulo for two years, my challenge in 2019 was to scale Amani's methodology around Brazil and Latin America.

    March 2013 - January 2017

    International Projects

    #InternacionalExpansion #ProjectManagement #StrategicPlanning #FoundRaisingEvents #Negotiation #FoodSystem #Education #Research

Gastromotiva is the first social organization in Brazil to harness the power of food to create social inclusion and build bridges between different realities.
I was responsible for the organization's main international projects - my challenges were planning Gastromotiva's international expansion and piloting consultancies on Social Gastronomy and education around the world. My last achievement was opening the first Gastromotiva office outside Brazil, in Mexico City. I was responsible for the start-up of the project - from planning to legal opening, fundraising, recruitment, and project implementation.
Before that, I've been responsible for the founder's agenda, writing his speeches and organizing all of Gastromotiva's main fundraising events.

    April 2012 - March 2013

Marketing and Communications Assistant | Destinations in Brazil

    #Communications #TravelPlanning #Writing #BrazilianDestinations #SocialMedia

Matueté is a high-end travel agency in Brazil. It operates the most amazing and exclusive trips in Brazil and the world. I was responsible to put together a travel plan for each client coming to Brazil, with all important contact and logistic information, daily activities, further readings and suggestions for each destination. The greatest outcome for me was to learn about Brazil and start traveling around my own country.

    August 2011- December 2011

    #Recruitment #LatinAmericanMarkets #Interviews #Googliness #Research

I was part of the first internship program at Google Brasil. As a recruitment intern, I sourced candidates for the different positions in all LatAm countries where Google was present at the time - Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. It had always been a dream to work at Google, and thanks to my good grades in University and to my previous experience with recruitment I got the position. Unfortunately, when the internship was over there was no headcount to keep me on the recruitment team. I had to either apply for a position in sales or leave. One of the harder decisions I had to make in life!

    Michael Page International

    Trainee Latin American Desk

    September 2009 - August 2011

    #Recruitment #LatinAmericanMarkets #Interviews #ProjectManagent #Hunting #OpeningNewMarkets #Research #BuildDatabase

This was my first real job - where I’ve built some of the most important professional skills I carry until today - responsibility, commitment, excellence, adaptation, and speed.

I spent my first year as a recruitment intern at the Latin American desk - that used to be the special business unit from Michael Page in charge of all recruitment projects for the Andean Countries, Central America, and the Caribbean. It was a new business unit, with no database, no personal interviews and lots of challenges. My fast development brought me a promotion in my first year to become a trainee. I was responsible for projects in all business areas, in all of those countries - from engineers in Guatemala to HR Directors in Bolivia. I was responsible for aligning candidate profiles with clients, source and interview candidates, prepare shortlists and present it back to the clients. My favorite part of the job was to talk with all of those different people, from different backgrounds and learn about their cultures.

Moving out of the big city

My master's research is about people who are deciding to leave a comfortable life in a big city to be closer to nature and their spiritualities in smaller communities. Sustainable consumption, the connection between spirituality and sustainability are some of the themes I am interested to address on my research.

    Me around the world

I love traveling, and luckily I had the opportunity to visit more than 25 countries so far. Many of them working for Amani or Gastromotiva.

As Michael Pollan says, eating is a political act. That is why cooking healthy and fare food for me, the producer and the environment is a very important part of my life. I cook informally in street events since 2011
